United WE DreamMission Statement
As a national immigrant youth-led organization, the mission of
the United We Dream Network is to achieve equal access to higher
education for all people, regardless of immigration status. We
aim to address the inequities and obstacles faced by immigrant
youth and to develop a sustainable, grassroots movement, led by
immigrant youth, documented and undocumented, and children of
immigrants. We use leadership development, organizing, policy
advocacy, alliance building, training and capacity building to
pursue our mission at the local, state and national levels.
American Latino Voter Education Fund
The American Voter Education Fund, (“AVEF”), is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation devoted to empowering minority communities through the power of voting.
National Immigration Law Center
Our mission is to protect and promote the rights and opportunities of low-income immigrants and their family members. NILC staff specialize in immigration law and the employment and public benefits rights of immigrants. We conduct policy analysis and impact litigation and provide publications, technical advice, and trainings to a broad constituency of legal aid agencies, community groups, and pro bono attorneys.
Mexican American
Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF)
MALDEF is a
national non-profit organization whose mission is to protect and
promote the civil rights of the more than 40 million Latinos living
in the United States. Making sure that there are no obstacles
preventing this diverse community from realizing its dreams, MALDEF
works to secure the rights of Latinos, primarily in the areas of
employment, education, immigrants' rights, political access and
public resource equity.
MALDEF's goals are:
1. To foster sound public policies, laws, and programs that
safeguard the rights of Latinos; and
2. To expand the opportunities for Latinos to participate fully in
society and to make a positive contribution toward its well-being.
